  • Spring break trip to France

Posted by Freddy Lynch on April 4, 2026 at 4:53 pm

Me and my fiancée are heading to France for spring break. Just proposed to her last week and she said yes, so we’re celebrating by doing a proper trip around the country. Always heard it’s one of the most romantic places on the planet, figured now’s the time to see it. We’ll need to rent a car there that works for city driving but can also handle the motorways when we head out to the countryside. Reckon that’s doable over there?

Congrats on the engagement, that’s brilliant news. France is perfect for a trip like that, loads to see beyond just Paris. Local rental companies in the city usually have decent selections, places like Rent a Car or ADA. They’re cheaper than the big international chains and the staff actually speak English at most of them. Just make sure you book ahead because spring is peak tourist season and everything gets snapped up fast.

Yeah, booking early is key or you’ll end up with whatever’s left on the lot. Thing is, dealing with city rental offices means you’re stuck picking up and dropping off in Paris, which eats into your travel time. Worth checking rental cars in France here: https://getrentacar.com/en-US/france . You can arrange pickups in different cities if you want to do a proper road trip instead of circling back to Paris. Gives you way more flexibility for hitting the countryside, wine regions, coastal towns, all that romantic stuff your fiancée will love.
